top note candy box
My friend & up line met for our annual catch up and Christmas lunch yesterday. We exchange little gifts that we have made, and this little top note candy box was my gift to her. She really loved it! I'm sooo glad!
This is how I made it.
For the box bottom I used Kiwi Kiss cardstock. The actual box top is cut from Red Riding Hood cardstock, and the "lid" of the box top, is cut using the Sizzix Top Note die - exclusive to Stampin' Up! - very cool. I cut it out of chipboard with my Big Shot die cutting machine and covered the shape with Holiday Treasures designer paper. The ends of the box are also covered with the same designer paper, my favourite!
Notice the window?? Cute huh? I used the 1 3/4" circle punch and then attached a piece of clear acetate with mini glue dots to the inside of the box. To close the box I punched a slot with the Horizontal Slot punch at each end of the Top Note lid and ran some of the 1/2" Striped Grosgrain ribbon under the box through the slots and tied it on top. I made the gift tag by stamping an image from the Winter Post stamp set with Red Riding Hood classic ink, and used the ink to paper technique, covered the image entirley with Versamark. Next, I liberally sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds embossing powder over all and set with my heat gun. It turned out very beautiful and glittery.
I will post pictures of the gifts I received soon.
Thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned!
