last minute card ideas

Two last minute card ideas. One very fast and easy, and one a little more time consuming, but fun!
I will start with the fast and easy. Bravo Burgundy cardstock provides the card base, and I layered it with my favourite designer paper, Holiday Treasures.
The reindeer is a stamp from Winter Post, one of the many lovely sets from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini. You can order from this catalogue until January 18, 2009 - hooray!
The stamp that I used to make the background for the reindeer is actually retired now - sigh. But En Francais would work just as well!
You can see that I used the new Wide Oval punch to cut out the reindeer image and to mat the image as well. Just punch out two ovals and adhere behind the stamped one, a little apart from each other. Great idea.
Now, I took the Curly Label punch (did you know that it is like a mini Top Note die?)
and punched into Red Riding Hood cardstock. Cut that shape in two. Punched a slot with the Horizontal Slot punch in each side for the ribbon to run through. Adhered them slightly apart onto the card, and then placed the reindeer image/mats on top.
You will need to run the ribbon through the slots before adhering the mat to the card.
Tie ribbon. Add greeting. Your good to go!

The choirboy reindeer does take a bit more time, but will be well received!
When I saw him on "Addicted To Stamping"'s blog, I knew I had to make this card for my nephew and his wife - both wonderful singers!
For details on how to make him - refer to her great blog.

Wow, just love your little reindeer fellow. Have also checked out the blog you got idea from, but I personally like yours better.
ALso, I am a S.U. demonstrator in Calgary, and was just curious to see your other samples on your S.U. website, but your link on your blog takes you somewhere else.
Just thought you should know so you don't miss out on possible sales.
