I just love this little chef from Stampin'Up! This stamp set is so versatile - I have used him for birthdays, weddings, celebrations, thank you's .....
When you purchase his accessory stamp set, Voila! To Go, he becomes even more fun!
A few posts back I did promise some Copic Marker inspiration for you, so here we go.
I have done some very basic shading around the outside of the image with my T3 Toner Grey Ciao Copic marker. It's basic, but it adds dimension. His scarf and candle are coloured in with an R27 Cadmium Red Original Copic marker, the platter with B37 Antwerp Blue Original and a combo of E35, E55 Sketch markers for the cake. I have finished off the candle with a Clear Spica also by Copic, which adds wonderful glitter. The Spica glitter pens have micro sized glass flakes in the ink, that really shine.
One very important point I need to add, is when you are stamping your image you need to use an ink that will not smear. You will achieve best results if you heat set your stamped image before applying your Copics - this will alleviate smearing.
Having said that,Memento Tuxedo Black ink by Tsukineko is my favourite, as there is no need to heat set the inked image before adding colour with your markers. I will talk more about marker ink versus stamp pad ink in an upcoming post.
I love the fact that Copic has so many colour choices which makes matching markers to cardstock a piece of cake!!
