happy mother's day!

I decided to try this faux wood technique for the background of my cards, and WOW! is it fun!! You can easily accomplish this look with Stampin' Up!s Dry Brush Jumbo Wheel.
Or, you can use a toothbrush - preferably an old one - along with some stamp pad reinkers, a ruler and a marker. Apply a few drops of each colour on a flat surface such as a paper plate etc. Take your toothbrush and dip into the lightest colour first. Then just drag it in a vertical or horizontal line depending on which way you want your wood panels to run, across your card stock. Take your next colour, and so on until the desired look is achieved. When dry, take your ruler and marker, then draw your lines representing the "boards", and don't forget your nails!
The flowers, bugs and font are from my Cricut machine that I adore!!
Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding this technique, or any of the others I have demonstrated here.
Have a great weekend! And happy mother's day to all moms!!

Hi Cathy,

I wanted thank you for your advise on my "Life Changing Dilemma". I appreciate it!

I love these cards and the technique! I was debating on whether to get the Cricut. . .it's on sale at Michaels right now. I love all the die cuts on your card! It's really something I should consider buying!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful cards!
